’’Oh, Boy ! It’s Pop with a new Plymouth’’
This document is a painting entitled : “Oh, Boy ! It’s Pop with a new Plymouth" painted by Norman Rockwell in 1951.
The scene takes place in a house. I can see a window with green shutters and a Christmas wreath.
There are five characters : two little girls, a boy, a dog and I suppose that the woman is the children’ s mom. They’re wearing pyjamas. Outside, there is a branch with snow and a bird ’s nest. Behind the window, I can see a Christmas tree and a piece of furniture.
We’ve imagined a story around this painting, and here it is :
It’s Christmas Day, in the country, the Sommers are getting up. Michael is the first up. He runs towards the Christmas tree to see if Father Christmas has brought presents but there are no presents. He is very sad and he wakes his Mom and his two sisters up. They look for presents and their father but they don’t find anything. Then they hear a honk, they run to the window, draw the curtain and look to see what is happening :
Ashley looks outside whereas the others look after the dog.
The father gets out of the new car with lots of present. The family is very happy and surprised to see their father disguised in Father Christmas. They have a very good time and a very merry Christmas.
At night, they go outside, it’s snowing and they go to the restaurant with the new Plymouth.
’’ Merry Christmas !! ’’
